My friend Larry Dupont has been recovering from a stroke at his home for the last month or so. Needless to say, it has been a challenge. I have been by Larry’s side to help in his convalescence. Of course, many people assisted in his recovery; doctors, physical therapists, occupational therapists, friends and neighbors.
But no person has been more important than Sumaia Nabirumbi. I am blown away by her dedication, caring, compassion, and expertise. Sumaia treats Larry like family. It was comforting to know that Sumaia would be there every day. Actually, it was the brightest part of Larry’s day. I witnessed it first-hand. After Sumaia’s daily visit, Larry was a new man. He was reenergized and refreshed, not to mention just feeling much better.
I am not exaggerating when I say Sumaia has been the single, most important part of Larry’s recovery. We were informed that Sumaia’s visits were not covered by insurance. Nonetheless, it was the best money ever spent.
